"Frosted" (frostedbuns)

Came out yesterday apparently. No reviews for it yet really, seems like people playing it are saying it's pretty average. For those who don't know, it's an open world racing game where you can modify any car to suit any race (rally LaFerraris). Looked cool and got lotsa hype, released rather uneventfully though. Anyone playing?

The trailer is cool. I'll be buying it later though, due to other priorities right now.

Played in the final beta test. Meh . Yes, it takes place in an entirely online world, like Destiny. No, it's not as good as Destiny. Wish they'd released this way earlier so it could've been snatched up at a discount over the Thanksgiving weekend. It just doesn't look/play well but I would pay $20-$25 for the experience. It just doesn't stack up to Horizon 2, or even Fuel or Midtown Madness for that matter.

I thought it looked really cool but I heard the handling was just arcadey nonsense from a lot of people who played the beta.

No, you can't modify any car to any class unfortunately. Certain cars can only go into certain classes. The hypercars can only get in race class so they end looking like hardcore track versions but handle exactly the same. The modifying in this game is a red herring.
Also it should know that I have played three different betas and let me skip the start.

WHAT?! That as the f**king selling point when they first announced it. They showed a trailer with a 370z that looked ready for the Dakar rally. Well now I can skip this game.

The XB1 screenshot feature can't come soon enough.
As you can see the 370z can race in all classes where as the Golf can only race in Street class for some reason. If you want to race a rally LaFerrari, Forza Horizon 2 remains your only option.

That looks....way more intense than it needed to be. Other than that, how are you liking it?

I just started it but then someone told me there was a new car pack for Horizon 2 so I bailed. The betas left a bad impression on me as the cop chases are bullshit and the handling is too damn heavy when racing.

Like a hovercraft with rocks in the apron. Like an icepack filled with gravel. I lost interest after I ignored the story and drove south out of Detroit into the wild blue yonder. Halfway to... Santa Fe? I was rudely yanked back to Detroit. OOOOO-K.
Where is Project Cars I'm wondering.
Then again the Forza titles are still entertaining startlingly well.

Project Cars got pushed back til march as the devs were afraid of going up against The Crew, DriveClub and Horizon 2 (their words not mine).

Hope it pans out. It played into my decision to buy an XBone over a PS4 since there are zero racers worth playing on PS4 right now. Still interested in seeing if it turns out to be the Holy Grail of console racers like they were promising. It will either be that, or a nail in their coffin considering the delays offered by them and the disappointments offered by their competitors. Thank goodness for Turn 10 and Playground because EA sure the hell isn't keeping racing alive in these dark days.

I've been playing on and off all day. It's "eh" at its best. I only paid $18 for it though. Power up reward coupon + trading my last 360 games in.
It's entertaining outside of the challenges, but I get beyond frustrated just doing the races. I dunno. It might grow on me.
